In cases of hypovolemic shock, narrowing of the superior mesenteric vessels (diameter less than half that of the aorta and IVC), accompanied by intense enhancement similar to the aorta and IVC, is frequently observed, with a frequency ranging from 88.5% to 96.2% [ 18 , 19 , 20 , 68 ]. Splanchnic hypoperfusion can be observed in both hypovolemic shock and non-occlusive mesenteric ischemia (NOMI) and is often attributed to reduced cardiac output and cardiogenic shock.…”
