Variceal Hemorrhage: Decompression, Obliteration, or Both?

Abstract: Variceal hemorrhage is a morbid condition that frequently mandates the involvement of interventional radiology to achieve successful and sustained hemostasis. Primary image-guided therapies for variceal hemorrhage include a transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt and transvenous obliteration.
