Abstract:In the present study on characterization and identification of lipids by thin layer chromatography in different tissues of Heteropneustes fossilis showed a considerable variation. The number of lipid spots was highest in brain compared to other tissues. The Rf values of spots indicate the regions of similarity between tissues.
