Previous petrographic descriptions available for Santa María pottery manufactured in Yocavil and Tafí valleys coincide with our results (Páez, 2010; Páez et al, 2005; Palamarczuk, 2008, 2014; Piñeiro, 1996; Sjödin, 1998). For this reason, we consider that the samples analysed by us may proceed from those valleys, or from neighbouring valleys—for example, the Cajon valley or north of Hualfín, where Santa María style pieces predominate with pastes of the same characteristics as those studied here.…”
