Variable-Thermoinsulation Garments With a Microprocessor Temperature Controller

Abstract: This paper presents the concept of active variable thermoinsulation clothing for users working in low temperatures. Those garments contain heating inserts regulated by a microprocessor temperature controller. This paper also presents the results of tests carried out on the newly designed garments.

“…[62] There are also PPE solutions that employ ESs to reduce the workload related to manual handling work, such as the case of the CareJack power vest, designed for caregivers and others with physically demanding jobs to help with heavy load lifting. [63] The vest stores the kinetic energy of the wearer's movements and releases it when required, thanks to the electronics incorporated into the textile material. An active thermo-regulation system was also embedded into protective clothing intended for use in cold environments.…”

“…This is their ability to exchange heat between the body and the external environment. The rate and manner of heat exchange depends on the insulating properties of the textiles and the insulation and thermal conductivity of each layer of the clothing in the tested system [ 9 , 10 , 11 ]. The values of the mentioned parameters can be determined using the test method with a thermal mannequin in accordance with PN-EN ISO 23537-1:2017-02.…”

“…In the conducted research, the knowledge of electric permittivity of threads forming a flat textile product is often needed, particularly in computer simulations of highfrequency electrical properties of textiles. The results of such simulations can be useful when designing textile antennas, [1] textile signal lines, [2,3] textile humidity sensors, [4,5] variable thermoinsulation garments, [6] and so on. The dielectric constant of threads creating a flat textile product (e.g., fabric) must be known, especially in situations when computer modeling is needed.…”
