Vapor Pressure of Saturated Aqueous Solutions of Potassium Sulfate from 310 K to 345 K

Abstract: The experimental evaluation of the vapor pressure of saturated aqueous solutions of potassium sulfate was carried out in the range of temperatures 310 K ≤ T ≤ 345 K. The experimental data were used to determine the corresponding values of the water activity in such solutions. The analytical expressions as a function of temperature of both, vapor pressure and water activity, were obtained from the correlation of the experimental results. The vapor pressure expression was also extrapolated to a different tempera… Show more

“…The comprehensive information on these materials is tabulated in Table 1. The experimental device has already been used in previous works, 14,15 where operational details are described. Briefly, it consists of a round-bottom flask of 125 cm 3 capacity containing the solution to be evaluated, stirred by a magnetic bar, connected to a vacuum system and manometer and completely immersed in a thermostatic water bath.…”
