The solubilities of Fe and Zn in a Bi melt in equilibrium with a FeCl 2 -ZnCl 2 melt were measured by the isopiestic method at 917 K. The activities of FeCl 2 and ZnCl 2 for the FeCl 2 -ZnCl 2 system were calculated from the solubilities of Fe and Zn in the Bi melt using the Belton-Fruehan treatment. The activities for the FeCl 2 -ZnCl 2 system show a negative deviation from Raoult's law. These results are in good agreement with the previously reported data determined by the transpiration method.
