“…A series of oxovanadium (IV and V) complexes bearing the [ON] À or [OON] 2À ligands derived from 7-(hexafluoro-2-hydroxypropane-2-yl)-8-hydroxyquinolines were tested in ethylene polymerization. 25 When activated by DEAC/ETA (V:Al:ETA = 1:300:30), moderate activities were observed, with the highest being with an "ordinary" 8-hydroxyquinolate dimer with a bridging oxygen, vanadium(V) complex 6, achieving 1.0 Â 10 6 g mol À1 h À1 and molecular weight as M w = 1.73 Â 10 5 . Complex 7, with a + 4 oxidation state, produced only a trace amount of polyethylene, but its higher oxidation state analogue 8 showed an activity of 0.92 Â 10 6 g mol À1 h À1 (M w = 1.70 Â 10 5 ).…”
