Background. Previous studies have demonstrated the significance of evidence-based practice in improving patient care and outcomes. Therefore, integrating evidence-based practice into the health professions’ education curriculum has become a pedagogical priority. However, there is a lack of reliable and valid scales to measure students’ evidence-based practice usage, attitudes, knowledge, and skills in Arab countries. Aim. This study aims to examine the adapted Student Evidence-Based Practice Scale Questionnaire (S-EBPQ) validity at logical statistical level and reliability for use among students in Arabic context. Methods. This cross-sectional study included 233 undergraduate nursing students from a university in Saudi Arabia, who were recruited after translating and pilot testing the S-EBPQ. Three distinctive types of validity including conceptual, content, and face validity were assessed to determine the quality of the questionnaire items logically. Exploratory factor analyses were performed to examine the tool’s structural validity. Additionally, internal consistency was assessed to evaluate reliability. Findings. All items were considered relevant to Arab culture, and no changes were made to any items. The content validity indices for all items were above 0.80 as this was considered an acceptable value. The exploratory factor analysis identified the same four factors (practice, attitude, retrieving and reviewing evidence, and sharing and applying evidence-based practice). All KMO values for the individual items ≥0.876 were also well above the acceptable 0.6 limit. The four-factor structure explained a total variance of 64%, with factor load score λ ≥ 0.455. The total and subscale S-EBPQ scores showed evidence of reliability, with Cronbach’s alpha ≥0.8. Conclusions. This study demonstrated the reliability and validity of the Arabic S-EBPQ version. The study has the potential to advance Arab countries’ understanding of evidence-based practice. S-EBPQ is a validated tool that can be used to assess nursing students’ knowledge of EBP practices. Since educators need to continually evaluate instructional and curricular design in order to meet contemporary nursing needs, this scale can enhance the educational process and enhance students’ competencies.

Background and ObjectiveAgeism represents an important barrier to high‐quality healthcare for older adults. The present study sought to translate and validate the Arabic version of the Ageism Scale for Dental Students (ASDS‐Arabic).Materials and MethodsThe 27‐item ASDS tool was translated from English into Arabic following recommended cross‐sectional forward and backward translation guidelines. The translated version was subjected to the content validity ratio (CVR) and sent to dental students in 21 institutes from 10 different Arab countries. Principal components analysis (PCA) was used to assess the dimensionality of the scale, and Cronbach's alpha was used to determine internal consistency reliability. The discriminant validity of the scale was assessed using the independent t‐test. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was also undertaken.ResultsBased on CVR, three items were removed. The 24‐item Arabic version was completed by 3284 dental students. PCA and CFA retained 17 items in six components, explaining 50.3% of the total variance, with acceptable reliability, validity and discrimination. The first component “Adherence of older patients with dental treatment and instructions,” included four items with a Cronbach α of 0.64 and scored 4.3 ± 0.8. The second component “Feasibility of the treatment plan,” included three items with a Cronbach α of 0.66 and scored from 2.6 ± 1.2 to 2.9 ± 1.1. The third component “Cost of and responsibility for the dental treatment” included four items with a Cronbach α of 0.47 and scored 4.4 ± 0.8 to 4.5 ± 0.8. The fourth component “Medical history of older patients” included two items with a Cronbach α of 0.70 and scored 4.0 ± 1.0 to 4.1 ± 1.0. The fifth Component “Feeling towards older patients” included two items with a Cronbach α of 0.672 and scored 2.6 ± 1.2 to 2.0 ± 1.4. The sixth Component “Confidence and experience in treating older patients” included two items with a Cronbach α of 0.33 and scored 4.4 ± 1 to 4.6 ± 1.ConclusionThis preliminary validation of the ASDS‐Ar resulted in a new 17‐item scale with six components with acceptable validity, reliability and discrimination.

Spatial Impact of Government Venture Capital on Urbanization and Its Path—Evidence from the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration in China

Despite being the world’s largest developing country and experiencing rapid economic growth, China’s urbanization process lags behind the global standard. The comprehensive promotion of urbanization development is a critical issue for the Chinese government, with government venture capital playing a significant role in promoting regional economic development. Using urbanization dimension levels extracted through factor analysis, this study analyzes the impact of government venture capital on the urbanization development of the Yangtze River Delta region of China and explores its path to determine its spatial spillover effect on surrounding areas. The results show that government venture capital funds can significantly promote urbanization development in this region, primarily by influencing the residents’ standard of living and urban construction levels. In addition, the spatial spillover effect of urbanization can be realized through the promotion of the urban construction level and the ecological health level of surrounding areas. While previous literature has examined government venture capital from multiple perspectives and dimensions, few scholars have investigated the impact of government venture capital on the critical issue of urbanization development. This study fills that research gap and serves as a reference for the Chinese government to promote high−quality urbanization development.
