Abstract:The lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) is a method for modeling fluid dynamics which is based on discrete kinetic theory. It discretizes the continuous Boltzmann equation in velocity, spatial and temporal space and solves a transport equation for particle populations. To enable an efficient time-space discretization with discrete velocity sets, common LBM solvers employ uniform grids making them prohibitively expensive for the simulation of high Reynolds number flows. This paper describes the implementation of a v… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
