Validation of thoracic injury rule out criteria as a decision instrument for screening of chest radiography in blunt thoracic trauma

Abstract: a b s t r a c tBackground: Thoracic injury rule out criteria (TIRC) were first introduced as a decision instrument for selective chest radiography in blunt thoracic trauma in 2014. However, the validity of this model has not been assessed in other studies. In this regard, the present survey evaluates the validity of TIRC model in a multi-center setting. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, clinical presentations and chest radiograms of multiple trauma patients referring to 6 educational hospitals in Iran wer… Show more

“…19 General calibration was assessed by drawing calibration plot which compared observed versus predicted mortality per decile of the linear predictor of the models. Additionally, overall performance was assessed by measurement of Brier score, scaled reliability and Nagelkerke's R 2 . In all analyses p < 0.05 was considered significant.…”

“…Using scoring systems is the most emphasized method in many articles. [1][2][3][4][5][6] For this purpose; researchers have designed different scoring systems and have done modifications on them to improve their efficacy and accuracy. [7][8][9] Using scoring systems helps in treatment and management of traumatic patients more accurately and according to their priority…”

“…These clinical models can aid in predicting the outcome and proper screening of patients regarding their need for complimentary diagnostic and therapeutic measures. [10111213141516] Risk Stratification of Syncope in the Emergency Department (ROSE), Boston, Osservatorio Epidemiologico sulla Sincope nel Lazio (OESIL), and San Francisco are among the specifically designed models for syncope. [51718] Since many of these models are newly developed, their value and probable limitations should be addressed before being widely used.…”

“…Різні дослідники використовували різні дози церулоплазміну, причому більшість авторів відзначають, що слабовиражений клінічний ефект церулоплазміну пов'язаний із запровадженням занадто обмежених доз, недостатніх для значного поліпшення лабораторних і клінічних показників. Прикладом цього є той факт, що з часу першого терапевтичного застосування ЦП рекомендована доза (15 мг) була збільшена в 10 разів [33].…”
