“…While the EDE-Q consistently demonstrates acceptable reliability and validity, one point of weakness is in its proposed four-factor structure, which has proven difficult to replicate. At present, ten studies have subjected EDE-Q data to confirmatory factor analyses (CFAs) (Allen, Byrne, Lampard, Watson, & Fursland, 2011;Barnes, Prescott, & Muncer, 2012;Chan & Leung, 2014;Darcy, Hardy, Crosby, Lock, & Peebles, 2013;Franko et al, 2012;Grilo, Henderson, Bell, & Crosby, 2013;Grilo, Reas, Hopwood, & Crosby, 2015;Hrabosky et al, 2008;Penelo, Negrete, Portell, & Raich, 2013;White, Haycraft, Goodwin, & Meyer, 2014; Table 1). Four studies, surveying male and female athletes and non-athletes, Latina women, bariatric surgery patients, and schoolchildren reported indices of model fit in the acceptable range for the fourfactor model (Darcy et al, 2013;Franko et al, 2012;Hrabosky et al, 2008;Penelo et al, 2013).…”
