Validation And Valuation Of The Preference-Based Healthindex Using Eq-5d-5l In The Hong Kong Population

Abstract: A27 and emotional constructs. Confirmatory analysis suggests that both the original seven factor model, and a model splitting MH and VT based on the direction of the items, fit the data acceptably. ConClusions: There is evidence for cross cultural differences in the role functioning dimensions of the SF-36, most likely due to differences in the perception of emotional health. The inconsistency of the MH and VT dimensions may be due to the combination of positive and negative items, order effects, or content ov… Show more

“…Each health state can be converted to a composite utility (preference) score from 0 (death) to 1 (perfect health), with a scoring algorithm derived from population-based valuation. The Chinese-Traditional (Hong Kong) translation of the EQ-5D-5L and the Hong Kong population specific EQ-5D-5L value set have been developed and normed on the local population [ 6 , 8 ]. The EuroQol Group full version of EQ-5D-5L (Web version)—Chinese-Traditional (Hong Kong) was adapted for electronic administration.…”

“…39 To gather a proactive collection of feedback from patients with different disease and health needs, the patient experience survey on specialist outpatient and accident and emergency services was followed in 2014 40 and 2016, 41 respectively. The collection of self-reported health statuses using the validated Chinese version of the EQ-5D-5L (EQ-5D-5L HK), 42 therefore, enables measurement of HRQoL among patients with chronic diseases 43 and correlations with patient engagement in hospital settings. 44 Nevertheless, to date, there is only one published article mentioning population norms for the HK Chinese population using the SF-6D instrument.…”

“…The objective of this study was to critically scrutinize negative values using the lead time TTO collected in EQ-5D-5L valuation studies from Asian (Singapore, China, and Thailand) as well as Western countries (the Netherlands and Canada) 10,11 and to assess sensitivity to the severity of the health states under investigation, both within individuals and for the study population as a whole.…”
