Vaccine allergies

Abstract: Currently, the increasing numbers of vaccine administrations are associated with increased reports of adverse vaccine reactions. Whilst the general adverse reactions including allergic reactions caused by the vaccine itself or the vaccine components, are rare, they can in some circumstances be serious and even fatal. In accordance with many IgE-mediated reactions and immediate-type allergic reactions, the primary allergens are proteins. The proteins most often implicated in vaccine allergies are egg and gelati… Show more

“…In some of these cases, autoimmunity is suspected to result from molecular mimicry in which antigens of the pathogen resemble host epitopes (31)(32)(33). Thus, avoiding potentially detrimental cross-reactive responses is a high priority when developing new vaccines (32)(33)(34)(35).…”

“…Allergencity is an important factor in vaccine design as allergic reaction could be fatal to the patients and hence we tested the allergencity of our proposed vaccine using allertop software which confirm the non allergencity of the vaccine. (62) Furthermore the antigenicity is a significant factor to tack into account when choosing a target for vaccine design, (63) therefore we tested the antigenicity of mhc1 and mhc2 peptide using vaxiJen software which shows 4 peptides to be antigenic in mhc1(YLYRYGYTR, WRFDVKAQM, LIADKWPAL, MYPMYRFTE) and one peptide to be antigenic in mhc2 (RRLWRFDVKAQMVD). (Table 7)…”

“…Although vaccination is an efficient method to prevent the diseases, the potential risk of allergic reactions exists. These allergic reactions are mediated by the reaction of IgE antibody with a vaccine itself or the vaccine components (77)(78)(79). Thus, our predicted B and T cell epitopes were subjected to allergenicity test using AllerTopv.2.0.…”
