“…A similar study based on prescription data for the period 1991 to 2000 concluded that the reduction in sales from 27.5 tons of active substance in 1992 to 6.1 t in 1993, and further to 1.4 tons in 1994, was due to the implementation of full-scale vaccination programmes with efficient vaccines against vibriosis, cold-water vibriosis and furunculosis in salmonids from 1993 (Lillehaug et al 2003).
