The COVID-19 epidemic, which affected the world with its global effects, caused a new order to be established on higher education institutions and educators. Instead of the traditional face-to-face teaching, distance education systems have come into play and online classes have functioned as new education fields. The transition to online education for students who continue their education life with the face-to-face education system has brought about the transfer of information through different presentation ways. The aim of the study, which investigated the effects of providing information through online training with less interaction, on design-oriented department students, is to evaluate the cognitive ability levels that also affect the learning processes. For this purpose, the 'Cognitive Ability Measurement Test' was created to measure and compare the cognitive abilities of the first-year students of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Landscape Architecture Department who received face-to-face education and the third-year students of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Landscape Architecture Department who received online education during the pandemic process.
