UV Excess and AGB Evolution in Elliptical-Galaxy Stellar Populations

Abstract: Summary. The puzzling origin of the "UV-upturn" phenomenon, observed in some elliptical galaxies, has recently been settled by identifying hot HB stars as main contributors to galaxy ultraviolet luminosity excess.
