“…The psfulc-2 mutant was generated from line NGB5839 by EMS mutagenesis 27 . The psfulc-3 mutant was isolated by reverse screening in an EMS-mutagenized TILLING population of cultivar Caméor 28 . The veg2-1 mutant was isolated from fast-neutron mutagenesis of cv.…”

“…4b). A third PsFULc mutant allele (psfulc-3), carrying a Q102STOP mutation, was identified in reverse genetic screening of an EMS-mutagenized Targeting-Induced Local Lesions in Genomes (TILLING) population 28 . Like psfulc-2, this mutant also showed a clear veg1 phenotype (Fig.…”

“…In pea, a transcription atlas (RNAseq) and gene-based maps (Bordat et al, 2011) will aid translation of genomic knowledge to practical breeding. Moreover, the pea variety Cameor was used to develop the TILLING mutant population (Dalmais et al, 2008) and to construct a BAC library, both essential tools for positional cloning and pea genome sequencing (reviewed in Smýkal et al, 2012;Smýkal and Konečná, 2014). Increased knowledge of the pea genome has not only a scientific but also a great educational and social impact, owing to seminal work of J. G. Mendel (1865-66) (Schwarzbach et al, 2014).…”

“…PsTAR2 mutants were identified from an ethyl methanesulfonate mutant collection of 4,800 pea lines using TILLING screening as described by Dalmais et al (2008). Details of all primer sequences are given in Supplemental Table S2.…”
