“…An observational study of 23 patients with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) concluded that the CapMedic ® device could detect significant errors in inhaler usage and was more sensitive in identifying and quantifying such errors than observation alone [18]. A small RCT by Paronyan et al showed improved inhalation technique in 16 patients coached with CapMedic ® data, compared to a control group with patients only shown an inhaler technique video [20]. A larger trial recruiting 50 participants with asthma is currently underway to further examine the impact of the device on inhaler technique and adherence to therapy (NCT04250779).…”
