Utilization of Transfer Learning Model in Detecting COVID-19 Cases From Chest X-Ray Images

Abstract: Diagnosis of COVID-19 pneumonia using patients’ chest X-Ray images is new but yet important task in the field of medicine. Researchers from different parts of the globe have developed many deep learning models to classify COVID-19. The performance of feature extraction and classifier plays a vital role in the recognizing the different patterns in the image. The pivotal process is the extraction of optimum features from the chest X-Ray images. The main goal of this study is to design an efficient hybrid algorit… Show more

“…There are currently several ways to diagnose COVID-19 disease. Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) testing [4] and methods based on radiographic images [5] are examples of these ways. Problems such as errors in results, high cost of test kits, and lack of advanced medical imaging tools and related specialists [4] , [6] have led researchers to consider the use of low-cost, affordable Chest X-ray (CXR) images [7] , [8] , [9] , [10] , [11] , [12] .…”

“…Such data sets include information on COVID-19 diagnosis, case reporting, transmission estimation, sentiment analysis from social media, and semantic analysis from the collection of scholarly articles. Most of the COVID-19 diagnosis data are based on image (CT scans, X-ray images) analysis [20][21][22][23].…”
