Utilization of macroporous beads impregnated with Cyanex 572 for effective separation of Sr(II), Y(III), and Zr(IV) from chloride medium: batch and fixed-bed column study

Abstract:This work focuses on using a new, inexpensive adsorbent, Amberlite XAD–4 resin impregnated with Cyanex 572 to extract and separate Zr(IV) from its parents Y(III) and Sr(II). The extraction performance was investigated using both batch and continuous flow techniques. The highest separation factor of Zr from Y and Sr was obtained at 0.05 mol L−1 HCl.
