Utilization of kinase inhibitors as novel therapeutic drug targets: A review

Abstract: Kinase inhibitors are a significant and continuously developing division of target therapeutics. The drug discovery and improvement efforts have examined numerous attempts to target the signaling pathway of kinases. The Kinase inhibitors have been heralded as a game-changer in cancer treatment. For developing kinase inhibitors as a treatment for various non-malignant disorders like auto-immune diseases, is currently undergoing extensive research. It may be beneficial to investigate whether cell-specific kinase … Show more

“…Protein kinases constitute the second largest family of drug targets, accounting for approximately 30% of targets in the pharmaceutical industry. , Kinase drugs are predominantly reversible inhibitors. However, there has been a notable surge of interest in developing covalent kinase inhibitors (CKIs) in recent times. , CKIs offer distinct advantages over their reversible counterparts, offering improved potency, increased selectivity, and prolonged duration of action, which make them very attractive in kinase drug development. , To date, 10 CKIs have gained approval for therapeutic use, and several others are in various stages of clinical trials .…”

“…Kinases control many essential cancer processes, including tumor growth, metastasis, neovascularization, and treatment resistance. Hence, the development of kinase inhibitors has become a top priority, with several of them receiving FDA approval for a variety of cancer purposes [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ].…”
