Abstract:Double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) molecules are mediators of RNA interference (RNAi) in eukaryotic cells. RNAi is a conserved mechanism of post-transcriptional silencing of genes cognate to the sequences of the applied dsRNA. RNAi-based therapeutics for the treatment of rare hereditary diseases have recently emerged, and the first sprayable dsRNA biopesticide has been proposed for registration.
