“…We conducted a study of 240 patients. A total of 305 patients were diagnosed with endometrial carcinoma at Hospital Donostia de San Sebastiá n (Guipú zcoa, Spain) between January 1, 2000, and December 31,2005. Excluded from the study were 21 patients who did not undergo surgical staging, 25 patients who underwent fractional curettage but did not undergo diagnostic hysteroscopy (three of these patients were also in the group that did not undergo surgical staging), 5 with negative surgical specimens for endometrial carcinoma, and 24 who were diagnosed with another type of cancer: 8 uterine sarcomas, 11 endometrial hyperplasias, 2 cervical cancers, and 3 ovarian cancers (7 of these patients had already been excluded as they did not undergo surgical staging or diagnostic hysteroscopy).…”
