“…(Mainiero and Sullivan, 2006: 111) The KCM proposes three career parameters of authenticity, balance and challenge, which shift in importance or emphasis over the course of a woman's life. Authenticity involves 'being true to oneself' Baruch, 2009: 1548) and the alignment of organisational and personal values (Sullivan and Baruch, 2009), as well as passion (Shaw and Leberman, 2015). Balance considers work and personal life as a coherent whole (Mainiero and Sullivan, 2005), and requires self-awareness as its starting point (Shaw and Leberman, 2015).…”

“…In the original KCM (Mainiero & Sullivan, 2005), it was hypothesized that the parameters of authenticity, balance, and challenge would vary across career stages. Research on the KCM has supported this expectation (August, 2011;Cabrera, 2007;Shaw & Leberman, 2015;. At different points in the career cycle, individuals may be more predisposed to seeking jobs that allow them more or less challenge, the ability to create a balanced work-home life in work and nonwork domains, and express a need to be genuine and authentic at work.…”
