Using Statistical Analysis Approach to Evaluate the Groundwater Quality in Jisser Diyala Area

Abstract: Multivariable statistical approach were applied to evaluate groundwater quality in Jisser Diyala area, this technique was used to find the relation between physco-chemical properties of water and pattern of changing the groundwater quality in this area. Cluster and Factor analysis were applied in two type R-mode and Q-mode to identify the grouping of chemical properties and identify the factors controlling the change in quality.

“…The maximum yield (well discharge) of (37) wells was demonstrated in figure (9) where maximum values were located in west and southwest part of the basin. Maximum yields depends on transmissivity and sedimentary facies of groundwater bearing as well as groundwater flow direction [14], taking in consideration thickness of aquifer.…”

“…Using a multivariate statistical method, groundwater categorization and hydrogeochemical evaluation have recently been researched in various regions, Bangladesh [8], Latvia [9], India [10], Morocco [11], Mexico [12], USA [13], South Africa [14], China [15], Egypt [16], India [17]. The researches in Iraq used multivariate statistical analysis to evaluate the quality of groundwater, such as in Makhmor plain [18], Baghdad City [19], Jisser Diyala [20], Erbil City [21], Al -Waffa and Kubayasa regions [22], in Zuber area [23], and in Rutba Area [24].…”
