Abstract:Diagnosis of pathogens using invasive sample collection (blood, nasopharyngeal) and expensive equipment is slow to implement in a pandemic setting. Saliva is an under-utilized matrix that has a lot of potential to be utilized for diagnosing communicable diseases.
