Using PVC ion-selective electrodes for the potentiometric flow injection analysis of distigmine in its pharmaceutical formulation and biological fluids

Abstract: The construction and electrochemical response characteristics of poly(vinylchloride) (PVC) membrane selective electrodes for the determination of distigmine (Ds) are described. The sensing membrane comprised an ion-pair based on distigmine phosphomolybdate (Ds-PM), distigmine phosphotungstate (Ds-PT), distigmine silicomolybdate (Ds-SM), distigmine silicotungstate (Ds-ST), distigmine tetraphenylborate (Ds-TPB), and distigmine reineckate (Ds-Rein) in a plasticized PVC matrix with dioctylphthalate (DOP). The infl… Show more

“…The influence of the ion-associating reagent in the preparation of the complex, which is the major component of a membrane for an ISE, was investigated. PTA and PMA are two ion-associate reagents used to prepare ion-pair complex with drugs containing nitrogenous basic group (Ezzeldin et al, 2012;Issa and Khorshid, 2011;Hefnawy et al, 2014;Shawish et al, 2018;Al-Mohaimeed et al, 2012).…”

“…A small thermal coefficient value indicates high thermal stability of the corresponding potentiometric sensor. Temperature coefficients (dnormalE/dt)cell and (dnormalE/dt)sen were determined from Figure S2 which was plotted using equation (2) , and found to be 0.087 and 0.783 mV/°C for (dnormalE/dt)cell and (dnormalE/dt)sen , respectively. It is obvious from the low values of the thermal coefficients that the sensor is thermally stable over a wide temperature range. truenormalE=E254ptnormalC+(dE/dt)(normalt-25) …”

“…TCH can be estimated using different spectrophotometric and chromatographic methods. Although spectrophotometric methods are simple, affordable and have reasonable accuracy, their limits of detection (LOD) are not very low; so that very dilute concentrations cannot be estimated.…”

“…Removal of basic dyes: The capability of the minimal effort adsorbent Azadirechta indica leaves (Neem) to remove methylene blue from fluid arrangement was examined at room temperature [120]. Ideal condition for investigation was measured at pH (3)(4)(5)(6)(7)(8)(9)(10)(11), adsorbent measurement (1-12 g/L), contact time (15-240 min). The outcomes shows an extraordinary adsorption limit of methylene blue colour by neem leaves and propose another conceivable utilization of this adsorbent material in removal of dyes from aqueous solution.…”
