“…VOCs have been extensively demonstrated to prime defenses against herbivorous insects (Kim and Felton, 2013), pathogens (Ameye et al., 2015), and environmental stresses (Cofer et al., 2018). Defense priming against pathogens has also been considered as a sort of “green vaccination” (Luna-Diez, 2016).
