Electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) device can provide crystal structure, orientation, and phase content data through analysis of EBSD patterns. The reliability and precision of these data depend on the quality of the band position and zone axes data. This study introduces a new image processing method that can accurately provide the location of Kikuchi bands and poles. In this method, pattern rotation and gray gradient calculation are employed after for the initial detection of Kikuchi lines. Hough transform and Gaussian function are used for the final definition of bands position. Based on the position of Kikuchi bands, the indices of lattice planes and zone axes can be obtained precisely and easily. Angles between zone axes are calculated using locating results. The maximum error for a single-crystal silicon sample is only 8.07%, illustrating the accuracy of this new method. knowledge is one of the most important resources of an enterprise. Skillful knowledge management can bring significant benefits including labour productivity growth, an increase in quality of provided services and also a strengthening of the competitive position of an enterprise. This paper presents an iT model of a knowledge Map which supports knowledge management in a construction enterprise. The model was developed on the basis of the results of surveys and analyses carried out in small and medium sized construction enterprises in Poland. The process approach in management was included in the proposed model and it involves analysis of an enterprise activity as a set of processes. The model contains processes occurring at enterprise level and also in the widely considered investment process in the construction industry. This assumption made the proposed knowledge Map universal and able to be applied in construction enterprises operating in both the design and executive field.

Over the past couple of decades, quality has been an area of increased focus.Multiple models and approaches have been proposed to measure the quality in the construction industry. This paper focuses on determining the quality of one of the types of roofing systems used in the construction industry, i.e. Sprayed Polyurethane Foam Roofs (SPF roofs). Thirty seven urethane coated SPF roofs that were installed in 2005 / 2006 were visually inspected to measure the percentage of blisters and repairs three times over a period of 4 year, 6 year and 7 year marks. A repairing criteria was established after a 6 year mark based on the data that were reported to contractors as vulnerable roofs.Furthermore, the relation between four possible contributing time of installation factors i.e. contractor, demographics, season, and difficulty (number of penetrations and size of the roof in square feet) that could affect the quality of the roof was determined.Demographics and difficulty did not affect the quality of the roofs whereas the contractor and the season when the roof was installed did affect the quality of the roofs.ii DEDICATION I would like to dedicate this thesis to Performance Based Studies Research Group (PBSRG) -Del E.
