Using continuous state estimation in grid planning

Abstract: In 2008, DONG Energy implemented an IT solution that determines all line load flows, transformer loads and bus voltages in the entire MV network every 10 minutes. Calculations are based on a combination of on-line measurements and statistically based synthetic load curves for various load types and seasons.
