Gamma ray is an electromagnetic radiation with a very high frequency that can be biologically hazardous. Most workers in the mining, manufacturing, security, and other industries find themselves in such hazardous environments and governments are trying to contain this issue. While traditionally, high gamma radiation detection sensors have been manufactured to be carried along by users, they are not good access point for actual dosage readings. With the recent advancement in mobile technology, this paper proposes a mobile hosting architecture to enable mobile-to-sensor communication following the edge-based technique. This means the sensor can detect the radiation and send readings to a smartphone device of the user. All other nearby mobile devices (which are authorized) will receive the notification to alert the people in the hazard zone. In this paper, the notification dissemination is developed based on the sequential flow pattern. The proposed work is tested and the results show that detected radiations are sent in soft real-time to the mobile devices.

This paper proposes and describes a trust model for distributed systems based on groups of peers. A group is defined as a collection of entities with particular affinities and capabilities. All entities may have a trust and a reputation value of each other in the system. In many cases it may be necessary to trust the whole system instead of one particular entity. In such cases group trust represents the trust of their particular members. To achieve this, this paper presents a group trust calculation model. We implemented the proposed model in a P2P simulation tool and presented main results for group trust calculation.

Cloud Services like Google Drive, Brainstormer, Doodle are meanwhile frequently used as tools for learning in various contexts. They provide storage facilities, production tools and particularly also coordination support. The management of these heterogeneous tools is a challenge for the individual users as well as for the usage in groups. This paper presents a mobile application to support the learners in the formation of informal learning groups and integrates heterogeneous cloud services to support group formation and further group work in a campus environment. Furthermore, this paper tackles the ambiguity of the term cloud application and tries to provide a definition and discusses the process of bringing the Brainstormer web application into the cloud for integration with the mobile application.
