Using chi-squared automatic interaction detection modelling to identify student opinion profiles regarding same-sex couples as a family structure

Abstract: The aim was to determine the opinions held by a sample of students in relation to homoparenting as a family modality. A cross-sectional study was conducted on a sample of university students specialization: social sciences using the AHFH. It is patent that opinions of students about the three factors (support, rejection and acceptance) that compose the construct of attitudes towards same-sex couples as a family structure, differ greatly depending on the positive or negative nature of these components. In concl… Show more

“…CHAID identifies interactions between independent variables and visualizes the results in the form of a tree diagram. In relation to multiple linear regression, CHAID has the advantage that it can compute independent variables which exhibit multicollinearity (see Rodríguez-Sabiote, Álvarez-Rodríguez, Álvarez-Ferrandiz & Zurita-Ortega 2021). This approach is thus appropriate for the data set used in this study, where IdQ score exhibits statistical relationships with age and CGP.…”

“…Under our conditions, we found a significant pattern of teacher preferences when performing their pedagogical actions. The robustness of our classification model relies on both the criteria of the exhaustive CHAID analysis performed ( Önder and Uyar, 2017 ; Feu et al, 2019 ; Rodríguez-Sabiote et al, 2021 ) and on the very low Bonferroni-adjusted p -values obtained in the analysis, which are a measure of the compatibility of the entire model of data analysis with the structure of the collected data ( Greenland et al, 2016 ).…”

“…The statistical test used is the independence test (Pearson Chi Square) (Monti et al, 2022;Friesen et al, 2024;Ainslie et al, 2021;Dixon et al, 2022). This independence test is to test the Ho hypothesis that there is no relationship between lexical variation and the type of text corpus of the President of the Republic of Indonesia's speech and the Ha hypothesis is that there is a relationship between lexical variation and the type of text of the President of the Republic of Indonesia's speech (Wang et al, 2023;Woo et al, 2023;Turvey et al, 2021;Nyaaba & Akurugu, 2023;Rodríguez-Sabiote et al, 2021).…”
