“…Moving to this study's contribution to emerging markets in general and Egyptian banking in specific, this research investigated the application of BCTAS, which is a weaknessopportunity (WO) strategy that can utilise an external opportunity related to the emergence of this breakthrough technology to face the internal weaknesses detected in different emerging/ developing economies. Thereby, BCT can (1) solve the problem of the lack of unified trusted source of transparent real-time accurate data, (2) incentivise leaders/managers to advance their poor technological infrastructure, (3) reinforce cleaner sustainable operations and eSCM performance of many industries, (4) overcome the challenge of limited banking market penetration and (5) lessen various financial crimes (Niforos, 2017a, b and c;Ramachandran and Rehermann, 2017;Miller and Mockel, 2018;Choi and Luo, 2019;Queiroz et al, 2020b;Garg et al, 2021). Given the sparse amount of studies on BCTAS-EO-HRIS-eSCMD that investigated each of these constructs/relationships individually, this is the first research that studied conceptually/empirically these direct/mediating relationships through one model examined within a promising banking industry of an emerging market.…”
