Using Aspirin as a Teaching Tool

Abstract: In the LaboratoryHartel and Hanna describe a laboratory experiment useful in the high school through organic chemistry setting. The experiment begins with one familiar substance (aspirin), and students use acyl substitution to generate another (wintergreen fragrance).
