Abstract:We use a water mist to experimentally visualize the wells in the potential energy of material levitated by a combined diamagnetic-acoustic levitator. The levitator consists of an 18.5 T superconducting magnet, which can levitate diamagnetic material, such as water, plastics, and organic materials, by applying a magnetic body force counteracting the force of gravity.
