User Experience in VR Fashion Product Shopping: Focusing on Tangible Interactions

Abstract: It is necessary to focus on a VR environment centered on a tangible interaction (TI), which provides and interacts with the user experience (UX) with various sensational forms. Therefore, this study attempted to present UX evaluation items for VR fashion product shopping environment through focusing on the TI. In addition, the developed factors were evaluated for validity through empirical experiments and attempted to explore the possibility of using a VR shopping UX evaluation methodology. As a result of fact… Show more

“…In contrast, immersive VR involves wearing HMDs, providing a more realistic and engaging experience by isolating the user from the real world. Despite these advancements, the development of VR shopping platforms is still in its nascent stages, with several not yet commercialised (Kim and Ha, 2021). A notable challenge is the integration of product information purchases processes within the virtual shopping experience (Tran, 2010;Lau et al, 2013), with many platforms focusing predominantly on the technical implementation of VR content.…”

“…A notable challenge is the integration of product information purchases processes within the virtual shopping experience (Tran, 2010;Lau et al, 2013), with many platforms focusing predominantly on the technical implementation of VR content. This focus often overlooks the importance of user functionality and satisfaction (Kim and Ha, 2021;Tran, 2010), highlighting the need for research into HMD-based virtual shopping malls to prioritise diverse user experiences.…”

“…Immersive VR is a method in which a person employs and observes a head-mounted display (HMD) attached to a computer or mobile device [97]. e user's field of view is regulated, the visual stimuli of the actual world are prevented, and the user only receives a 3D image generated by the HMD by putting a distinct device in an immersive VR environment [98,99]. In this way, it becomes possible to experience a virtual world as if it is the real world, and an intense sense of reality and immersion occurs.…”

“…In this way, it becomes possible to experience a virtual world as if it is the real world, and an intense sense of reality and immersion occurs. However, immersive VR has a few limitations like headache, dizziness, and nausea, and also user's need to buy VR devices negatively impacts customers for product shopping using VR [98,99]. An empirical experiment was undertaken focusing on the UX rating items created in this manner.…”

“…Extended reality (XR) provides users with immersive experiences. Recent breakthroughs in computer vision and mobile computing have spread the use of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) across platforms, products, and applications (Ardiny & Khanmirza, 2018;Choi et al, 2022;Kim & Ha, 2021;. XR systems are essentially based on the transmission of video and audio information.…”
