User Authentication Method Based on MKL for Keystroke and Mouse Behavioral Feature Fusion

Abstract: In order to improve the recognition rate of users with single behavioral feature and prevent impostors from restricting an input device to avoid detection, a dual-index user authentication method based on Multiple Kernel Learning (MKL) for keystroke and mouse behavioral feature fusion was proposed in this paper. Due to the heterogeneity between the keystroke features and the mouse features, we argue that each type of features is mapped to a suitable kernel and the weights of each kernel are obtained through co… Show more

“…Also, the accuracy of discriminating identity trustworthiness by the interactor's input behavior on the keyboard (Kim et al, 2017) and tapping rhythm (Mhenni et al, 2019) exceeds 93%. Further, Wang et al (2020) achieved 98% accuracy through the combination of keyboard and mouse behavior methods. However, it is the practical implementation that the collection of these data requires the deployment of custom code in the website, which will reduce the fluency of the interaction between humans and website and affect the interaction experience.…”

“…However, for complex problems such as large sample sizes, irregular multidimensional data, and an uneven distribution, it is limiting to use a single kernel function for processing. In this regard, multiple kernel functions can be combined, and the optimal linear combination of multiple kernels can be used to replace the single kernel to obtain better model performance, that is, the so-called Multiple Kernel Learning method [32].…”
