This paper investigates the impact of physical layer secrecy on the performance of a unified non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) framework, where both external and internal eavesdropping scenarios are examined. The spatial locations of legitimate users (LUs) and eavesdroppers are modeled by invoking stochastic geometry. To characterize the security performance, new exact and asymptotic expressions of secrecy outage probability (SOP) are derived for both code-domain NOMA (CD-NOMA) and power-domain NOMA (PD-NOMA), in which imperfect successive interference cancellation (ipSIC) and perfect SIC (pSIC) are taken into account. For the external eavesdropping scenario, the secrecy diversity orders by a pair of LUs (the n-th user and m-th user) for CD/PD-NOMA are obtained. Analytical results make known that the diversity orders of the n-th user with ipSIC/pSIC for CD-NOMA and PD-NOMA are equal to zero/K and zero/one, respectively. The diversity orders of the m-th user are equal to K/one for CD/PD-NOMA. For the internal eavesdropping scenario, we examine the analysis of secrecy diversity order and observe that the m-th user to wiretap the n-th user with ipSIC/pSIC for CD-NOMA and PD-NOMA provide the diversity orders of zero/K and zero/one, respectively, which is consistent with external eavesdropping scenario. Numerical results are present to confirm the accuracy of the analytical results developed and show that: i) The secrecy outage behavior of the n-th user is superior to that of the m-th user; ii) By increasing the number of subcarriers, CD-NOMA is capable of achieving a larger secrecy diversity gain compared to PD-NOMA.

This article investigates the non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) enhanced unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-to-Everything (U2X) frameworks. A novel 3-Dimension framework for providing wireless services to randomly roaming NOMA receivers (Rxs) in the sphere space is proposed by utilizing stochastic geometry tools. In an effort to evaluate the performance of the proposed framework, we first derive closed-form expressions for the outage probability and the ergodic rate of paired NOMA Rxs.For obtaining more insights, we investigate the diversity order and the high signal-to-noise (SNR) slope of NOMA enhanced U2X frameworks. We also derive the spectrum efficiency in both NOMA and orthogonal multiple access (OMA) enhanced U2X frameworks. Our analytical results demonstrate that the diversity order and the high SNR slope of the proposed framework are m and one, respectively.Numerical results are provided to confirm that: i) the proposed NOMA enhanced U2X frameworks have superior outage performance and spectrum efficiency compared with the OMA-enhanced U2X frameworks; and ii) for the case of fixed LoS probability, the outage performance of paired NOMA Rxs mainly depends on users with poor channel conditions.

Summary Radio resource management to enable user association and resource block (RB) allocation is crucial for enhancing the performance of heterogeneous networks (HetNets), which are required for fifth generation (5G) mobile networks. This paper proposed a resource allocation technique based on a genetic algorithm (GA) for use in HetNets. We aimed to optimize user association and RB allocation simultaneously to fulfill multiple objectives, such as throughput and fairness measure. In addition to the four primary phases used in GA process, namely initialization, crossover, mutation, and selection, a further operator was provided for managing illegal offspring generated during a GA process. We performed a simulation to compare the proposed GA‐based approach with best channel quality indicator (CQI) algorithm and integer linear programming (ILP) approach in terms of total throughput and fairness measure. The simulation results revealed that the total throughput obtained using the proposed approach is 32.7% and 37.6% better than that obtained using the ILP and best CQI approaches, respectively. Moreover, the fairness measure obtained using the proposed GA‐based approach was 31.8% and 33.2% higher than that obtained using ILP and best CQI approaches, respectively.
