Use of semi-leafless peas (Pisum sativum L) with enzyme addition in diets for broilers

Abstract: The aim was to study the effects of dietary pea inclusion and the addition of Avizyme 1200 -enzyme cocktail on broiler performance, intestinal viscosity and organoleptic quality of meat. The experimental design was a 4 × 2 factorial, the factors being dietary pea inclusion (0, 150, 300 and 450 g kg-1) in the diets fed from day 9 to day 38 and the addition of Avizyme 1200 enzyme cocktail including amylase, protease and xylanase during the entire experiment. The growth of birds improved (p ≤ 0.018) with pea incl… Show more

“…Several antibiotic alternatives, such as organic acids, probiotics, prebiotics and enzymes, have recently been reported to be beneficial for layers and broilers, as they improved weight gain (Haque et al 2010), feed conversion efficiency (Al-Sharafat et al 2009;Koivunen et al 2016), immune status (Al-Khalaifa et al 2019), carcase weight and carcase quality (Islam et al 2012).…”

“…Another approach that has been considered as a means of attenuating the adverse effects of some ANF present in legumes is the dietary addition of exogenous enzymes [ 20 ]. However, several recent studies examining supplementation of diets containing raw pea seeds (30% or more) with xylanase-based carbohydrase complexes (‘cocktails’) have shown inconsistent effects on the performance and/or nutrient digestibility in broiler chickens, depending on the type of cereal grain (wheat or maize) used in feed formulation [ 7 , 21 , 22 , 23 ]. Despite direct and indirect evidence that supplementation with exogenous proteases may improve ingredient quality by reducing variability in proteinaceous feed materials and mitigating negative effects of trypsin inhibitors or lectins [ 24 , 25 ], there are only sparse data available on the effects of mono-component proteases on nutrient digestibility in broilers fed diets containing a considerable amount of peas [ 26 ].…”

“…В основном эффективность применения комбикормов с включением гороха изучена на бройлерах (9,12,15,18). Небольшая часть исследований посвящена применению этой культуры в кормлении несушек промышленного стада (6,16,17,19,20).…”
