Abstract: Tungiasis is an endemic dermatological parasitic zoonosis in Latin America, caused by the sand flea Tunga spp . (Siphonaptera, Tungidae), which promotes intense discomfort, swelling, erythema, itching, pain, secondary bacterial infection, cellulitis and necrosis.
