Use of New Inorganic Fillers in Tyre Rubber Formulations

Abstract: Both active filler (furnace black) and mineral fillers are used in general-purpose tyre rubber formulations. The aim of the present study is to examine the possibility of using new mineral fillers-shungite and thermin-in a general-purpose tyre rubber formulation (instead of BS-120 silica or kaolin) in combination with furnace black. Shungite is a finely-ground natural mineral (from the Karelia deposit), containing oxides of Si (65%), Al (4.5%), Fe (5.4%), K, Na, Ca (total 3.58%), Ti, Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn (total 0.33… Show more

“…As used plasticizers: DINP (diisononylphthalate), TOTM (trioctyltrimilatite), DOA (dioctyladipate), Alphaplast (complex plasticizer based on esters of organic alcohols and acids, developed by LLC "Phosphoros", Kazan) and widely used industrial plasticizer DOF (dioctylphthalate) the structures of which are shown in Figure 1. According to the recipe [11] formulated standard mixtures. Plasticizers were introduced in an amount of 10 mass parts per 100 mass parts of rubber.…”
