“…In the United States, the pathogenicity of R. massiliae in dogs is recognized (Beeler et al., 2011). For this reason, it is imperative that state animal health professionals are aware of the circulation of this microorganism in order to include it as a differential diagnosis in dogs with splenic disease (Movilla et al., 2017), since in the state of Morelos the presence of Babesia vogeli and Ehrlichia canis (two of the most common pathogens involved in the development of this condition) has previously been confirmed (Lira‐Amaya et al., 2017, 2023).
