Coastal tourism is a tourism market segment that is increasing in popularity. The said increase happened due to coastal destinations’ ability to give visitors a tranquil and isolated atmosphere. This trend often triggered excessive coastal developments that could strain and cause irreparable damage to the local coastal ecosystem. Previous findings stated that a local environmental carrying capacity assessment needs to be formulated before a physical development can be exercised. Sekotong is a district in West Lombok that has the potential to be developed as a coastal tourism hub. It is located by the Lombok Strait that has good surfing waves and a beautiful seascape. This region is projected to experience a drastic visitor increase in the coming years. These potentials and increasing visitor number projections could attract physical development interests in the future. This study aims to assess local environmental carrying capacity, especially regarding coastal tourism activities. A quantitative approach utilizing statistical data and remote sensing tools is done to assess the physical and real carrying capacity models. The assessment shows that the study area can endure tourism development that is aimed to satisfy 3.087,57 individuals. This number represents the local ecosystem’s limit to endure future development plans and is expected to be referenced in future physical development plans in Sekotong. This study is also hoped to contribute to local coastal environment sustainability.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology has been employed widely in the past several years to increase agricultural output while decreasing labor-intensive tasks, inspection times and crop management expenses. They can quickly cover enormous regions in which being utilized more often to gather important data for a variety of precision agricultural applications, such as crop/plant categorization. In particular, the use of UAVs for managing pressures such as water, illnesses, malnourishment and pests has been rising in regard to tracking and evaluating the health of plants, agriculture and woods. With an emphasis on the processes employed to extract the data from images taken during the missions, this article provides a critical summary of the major developments in the field. A review of the main investigation gaps that need to be filled and the obstacles that have been addressed is presented, along with a few proposals for further study, based on data from over 55 published studies as well as our findings. Ultimately, this review offers a thorough assessment of the state of crop classification using UAV footage, providing insights into the field; accomplishments, difficulties and potential future paths.

Phenomics and chlorophyll fluorescence can help us to understand the various stresses a plant may undergo. In this research work, we observe the image-based morphological changes in the wheat canopy. These changes are monitored by capturing the maximum area of wheat canopy image that has maximum photosynthetic activity (chlorophyll fluorescence signals). The proposed algorithm presented here has three stages: (i) first, derivation of dynamic threshold value by curve fitting of data to eliminate the pixels of low-intensity value, (ii) second, extraction and segmentation of thresholded region by application of histogram-based K -means algorithm iteratively (this scheme of the algorithm is referred to as the curve fit K -means (CfitK-means) algorithm); and (iii) third, computation of 23 grey level cooccurrence matrix (GLCM) texture features (traits) from the wheat images has been done. These features help to do statistical analysis and infer agronomical insights. The analysis consists of correlation, factor, and agglomerative clustering to identify water stress indicators. A public repository of wheat canopy images was used that had normal and water stress response chlorophyll fluorescence images. The analysis of the feature dataset shows that all 23 features are proved fruitful in studying the changes in the shape and structure of wheat canopy due to water stress. The best segmentation algorithm was confirmed by doing exhaustive comparisons of seven segmentation algorithms. The comparisons showed that the best algorithm is CfitK-means as it has a maximum IoU score value of 95.75.
