Use of intravenous lignocaine in the perioperative and chronic pain setting

Abstract: Intravenous lignocaine has an emerging role in the treatment of acute pain within the perioperative setting, as recent consensus guidelines from the Association of Anaesthetists have shown. It has played a role in chronic pain management in recent decades, and continues to be a useful tool for pain specialists.
