Abstract:An electrochemical study aimed at understanding the kinetic properties of oxidation of liquid organic fuels on a Pt disk was performed using cyclic voltammetry and rotating disk electrode techniques. Carbocyclic organic compounds and N-containing heterocyclic compounds were investigated as fuels. N-containing heterocyclic fuels were oxidized at lower potentials compared to carbocyclic fuels and the RDE behavior of the N-containing heterocycles indicated that the nitrogen atom in the cyclic ring favors proton r… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
