Use of Eggshells as Bone Grafts around Commercially Pure Titanium Implant Screws Coated with Nano Calcium Sulfate

Abstract: Background. Implant insertion in regions with poor bone quantity, such as the posterior maxilla, is potentially associated with an increased rate of implant failure. Calcium sulfate can be used as the coating material for commercially pure titanium (CpTi) and as the bone graft material around implants when bound to eggshell powder to enhance the bone quality and quantity of bone defect regions. This study performed a torque removal test to evaluate the effectiveness of eggshell powder as a bone substitute for … Show more

“…The G0 has a 123. 15 MPa elastic modulus and a 3.9 GPa flexural strength, respectively. Elastic modulus and flexural strength both enhanced with the addition of 0.5 and 1 wt% TeO 2 , which might be attributed to the nanofillers' dispersion having more homogeneity and uniformity.…”

“…14 To attain optimum biological characteristics and biocompatibility, several processing and materials for altering dental implants' surfaces have been created in recent decades. 15 By obtaining optimal implant features, such as their biomechanical and surface characteristics, the clinical success of dental implants can be increased. 16 In our previous study, 1 the idea of employing bioactive CS as reinforcement in a PEKK matrix has been used.…”

“…It serves as a critical component of our bodies' structure, and hence its function is clear. Furthermore, data suggest that the consumption of dietary calcium in India has been steadily falling for the past half-century [2]. Calcium is a vital micronutrient that is necessary for tooth and bone growth, as well as muscular contraction, blood clotting, and nerve conductivity [3].…”

“…Calcium plays a crucial role in cardiovascular health, and getting enough of it is recommended to avoid hypertension and preeclampsia [4]. As the years pass, people's attention to getting enough calcium is waning, perhaps leading to poorer bone density and disorders like osteoporosis and hypocalcemia [2]. Osteoporosis is characterized by a gradual loss of bone density [5].…”
