“…Higher functional status was related to a greater use of problem-focused coping strategies, such as positive action (Jakobsson Larsson et al, 2014;Lee et al, 2001;Tramonti et al, 2012), active coping (Schluter et al, 2019) and information seeking (Jakobsson Larsson et al, 2016), as well as greater independence (Lee et al, 2001;Tramonti et al, 2012). On the other hand, the lower the functional status, the more emotionfocused coping strategies (e.g., acceptance and resignation (Achille & Ogloff, 2003), positive thinking (Jakobsson Larsson et al, 2016), positive reinterpretation and growth (Schluter et al, 2019), restraint (Schluter et al, 2019)) and social support coping strategies (e.g., support (Jakobsson Larsson et al, 2016;Tramonti et al, 2012), focus and venting of emotions were employed (Schluter et al, 2019)).
