Use of companding to reduce isolation requirements in the remote antenna unit of an OFDM radio over fiber link

Abstract

We demonstrate the use of companding in a directly modulated radio-over-fiber link with the aim of reducing the isolation requirements in the remote antenna unit. The performance of the system is quantified through error vector magnitude measurements.Index Terms-Radio-over-Fiber, companding, OFDM, Error Vector Magnitude.
