Abstract:Background: Obese children of all ages show signs of low-grade chronic inflammation. Circulating acute phase reactants (CPR) and urinary PGF-2α are used to determine the severity of inflammation. Childhood obesity-related inflammation seems to have a key role in the advancement of atherosclerosis.
